Congratulations to all involved in the Ashghal project Doha South Sewage Infrastructure Project – Main Trunk Sewer, which is the first project anywhere in the Middle East to achieve CEEQUAL certification. “This has helped the project to set a new benchmark for other projects in the region in terms of sustainability, health & safety, team work, collaboration and innovative solutions”, according to Maher Al Ajam, Programme Director from JACOBS/CH2M.
CEEQUAL is the evidence-based sustainability assessment, rating and awards scheme for civil engineering, infrastructure, landscaping and public realm projects. It was developed by the Institution of Civil Engineers in the UK and is now owned and managed by the BRE Trust group of companies, the same charitable organisation which is the parent organisation of Constructing Excellence UK.
The CEEQUAL Exceptional Achievement Awards recognise projects that demonstrate pinnacle best-practice performance in a particular aspect of their CEEQUAL assessment. These unique awards highlight the very best performance being achieved by civil engineering project teams, and the Doha South project was the global winner in the Water Environment & Resources category for 2019. The awards brochure is available here, and much more information on why the project won this award are available here: https://www.ceequal.com/case-studies/doha-south-sewage-infrastructure-project-main-trunk-sewer/.
Congratulations from all at Constructing Excellence in Qatar, we are all proud of what you have achieved!
