About the speakers
Don Ward is Managing Director of CE International and runs Constructing Excellence in Qatar. He has worked on best practice in Qatar construction for five years. He was chief executive of Constructing Excellence in the UK for more than ten years before moving to run the international arm. Don has over thirty years’ experience of innovation and best practice in the built environment sector, specialising in policy making, industry change, benchmarking and innovation around the globe.
Pamela McDonald is a Senior Associate of Pinsent Masons LLP, a full practice international law firm who have been actively advising clients in the Middle East since 2005. Pinsent Masons’ Doha office opened in 2010, and focuses on advising clients in the infrastructure and energy sectors. Pamela has been in Qatar for 5 years and has given legal advice to clients on projects including the Doha Metro, the airport, roads, ports, hotels, water and solar projects and stadiums. Pamela is experienced in all types of dispute resolution forums, and specialises in international arbitration.
Ahmad al Ansari is Head of the President’s Technical Office in Ashghal, the Public Works Authority. His previous roles include Head of Planning, Design & Contracts for the Qatar Olympic Committee on projects for the 2006 Games and as Head of Water Projects for the Ministry of Electricity and Water. He is also Chairman of the local branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, CIArb.
